The Union ATHLETICS CLUB Distance camp brings high school distance runners together for purposeful training, fun workouts, and hands-on skill development, supplemented with talks from elite athletes on the uac team and coach pete julian. But the heart of camp goes beyond the miles—it's about building community, creating friendships, and sharing unforgettable moments. Expect laughter, learning, and an environment where runners grow in confidence, learn to love the process, and leave feeling inspired for the upcoming cross country season.

Campers may fly into Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) located 25 miles from Steamboat Springs. UAC will provide a shuttle to and from HDN for $50. Please email mark@unionathleticsclub.com for scheduling.
The Denver International Airport is 3 hours from Colorado Mountain College.
Campers and families are responsible for travel arrangements to and from camp.
More information will be provided on camp start and end times once registration closes.

The proposed day-to-day structure is as follows (subject to change):
7:00am: main run
9:00am: breakfast
10:00am: activity/instruction
12:00pm: lunch
1:00pm: activity/instruction
3:00pm: shakeout
5:00pm: dinner
6:00pm: free time/activity
9:00pm: room checks

Runners of all levels are welcome! There are no PR requirements to attend. Camp staff is trained to work with athletes of all skill levels!

Daily mileage will be determined on an individual basis according to experience and ability. A range of 3-10 miles per day can be expected (subject to change as schedule is finalized).
Mileage runs will occur every morning with optional double runs available in the afternoon, schedule permitting.

Campers will stay in traditional college dorms without AC. Campers will need to bring linens and toiletries.
**Note: Average nighttime summer temperatures in Steamboat range from 40-50 degrees F.
All campers will be roomed with another camper of the same gender and similar age.

The final camp packet will be sent out once registration closes. This will include a recommended packing list.

The camp director, assistant director, and college counselor staff will be the main supervision. The staff will be staying in the same residence halls as the campers and will attend all activities. Lights off will be enforced and monitored by the staff. All staff members will undergo thorough screening before being accepted to work the camp.

The cafeteria has numerous dining options to accommodate any food allergies. The staff will notify the college ahead of time with any allergies for the campers.
